HUBS is the information technology initiative that is transforming the mid-Atlantic states of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania into a smart region.

HUBS Education (the "S" in HUBS) is working to transform the K12 schools in the four-state region into high-technology centers of excellence, producing graduates with the skills necessary to support the hospitals, universities, and businesses of the 21st century. HUBS Education (HUBS Ed) was initially funded by means of a $5 million, two-year challenge grant from the U. S. Department of Education.

SAIC, the manager of HUBS Education, has recently become approved vendors in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Students Achieving Standards program.

The HUBS Education Portal provides access to LearnNC, a North Carolina-based education Web site housing thousands of classroom-tested lesson plans and educational Internet links contributed by north Carolina teachers. HUBS Ed and LearnNC are partners in providing exemplary educational materials to the K12 teaching community.
